I am currently working as a Landscape Architect for Ivey, Harris and Walls,
Inc., a large land design firm in Orlando, Florida. My work brings me in
daily contact with a variety of large scale projects which supports our
substantial civil engineering and urbanism departments. Our clients
include Disney, Universal Studios, Orange County Parks & Recreation and
University of Central Florida. I am presently responsible for designing and
managing a landscape project for a large building being constructed at the
University of Central Florida with a landscape budget of $100,000. I am
writing this letter because I am planing to relocate to Europe in the next
few months and would like to make contacts within the related fields of
European Architecture, Urbanism, Horticulture, Landscape Contracting and/or
Garden Design. My preference of places to live are western European
countries but I want to stay flexible in terms of other locations such
as newly formed Eastern block countries.

Ever since I finished course work from the Studies Abroad Program in
Cortona, Italy (a branch of the University of Georgia) which subsequently
helped me complete a five-year Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture,
I had hoped to some day relocate to Europe. That day is now.

My strengths are planting design, plant material knowledge, (zones: 10-5 in
U.S.A.) AutoCAD and the understanding of traditional town, post modern and
pedestrian oriented urban design principles. I have practical experience
with several design/build landscape contractors. I have also worked for over
three years for landscape architectural firms. This includes experience
working at my father's architectural practice.

Because my desire to live in Europe is so great and my ability to speak
other languages is not yet at a fluent level, I will accept a position far
below what my CV would suggest. This includes a job working with plants at a
European nursery or in landscape installation. At this level I believe my
talents and knowledge can help a European company and simultaneously, help
me get established in Europe while also giving me time to learn the
language. Considering how difficult it is for an American to find work in
Europe, I would be extremely happy to find work of any kind.

Besides going to school in Italy, I have worked and travel in Europe and
South America. While in these countries, I taught myself about their
particular urbanism, architecture, garden designs and landscape plants. I
have greatly enjoyed working internationally and learning about other
cultures. I wish to continue this by relocating to Europe while also expand
my professional experience by living in one of the most culturally rich
parts of the world.

I will include my resume for your review. I greatly anticipate your positive
response.

Thank you for your assistance and time.

Most sincerely,

Mark Warriner
