    Advisor: Prof. Supriya Chakrabarti (Boston University)
    Completed doctoral research at the Department of Physics (Berkeley Space
    Sciences Laboratory). Offsite at Boston University's Center for Space
    Physics since June 1993. Responsible for the design, fabrication, testing,
    calibration, and integration of the Coronal Ultraviolet Berkeley
    Spectrometer (CUBS) instrument, launched aboard NASA's Black Brant XII
    sounding rocket. Developed a spherical radiative transfer model to
    simulate exospheric resonance emissions in planetary atmospheres.
    Participated in the design and testing of original optical instruments
    for use in aeronomic measurements. Programmed numerous raytrace codes
    (FORTRAN, IDL) for testing optical designs of sounding rocket, satellite,
    and laboratory instruments. Fabricated microchannel plate position
    sensitive detectors for use in sounding rocket experiments and laboratory
    testing. Participated in the design, construction, and operation of a
    vacuum ultraviolet calibration facility. Authored papers for journal
    submission and presented results at conferences. Awarded funding for the
    proposal, ``The Study of Resonance Emissions in the Exosphere,'' by NASA's
    Graduate Student Researchers Program. Past duties have included a full
    time graduate course load, Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) and Head GSI
    position for Department of Physics.  

  Summers 1983 - 1988:
   Pacific Sierra Research Corp., Santa Monica, California 90025
    Supervisor: Dr. Leonard Schlessinger
    Computer programmer (FORTRAN, Basic). Data analyst. Conducted research
    concerning measurements of Source Region Electromagnetic Pulse phenomena
    (SREMP). Measured forbidden lines produced by Stark mixing in NaK with
    YAG laser.
