We have an urgent requirement for Web/Cognos/ETL Application
Developer.

Position: Web/Cognos/ETL Application Developer
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Location: Downey, CA
Tasks/Services to be provided
Under the general direction from County’s Project Manager the
consultant will complete all of the following tasks:
1. Review end user requirements & specification documents.
2. Interview end users to gather or refine requirements.
3. Research source data locations to validate requirements
4. Serve as a technical resource for other members of the development
team to ensure that processing standards, guidelines, and procedures
are practiced.
5. Design Data Models, metadata and PowerCubes.
6. Develop reports and data cubes
7. Develop and maintain operational and system level documentation
8. Be on-call for production jobs and perform trouble shooting tasks
when jobs abort.
9. Practice in JAD Sessions as needed to review end user requirements
for enhancements for the new application development.
10. Modify & develop the queries used in the Ad Hoc environment that
will be used to access data from Oracle and SQL server data
structures.
11. Mentor other county programmers assigned to work on the project.
12. Provide production support for end-users of the system, including:
training, responding to questions, resolving problems and providing ad-
hoc reporting.
13. Provide on-call support for the new system during business hours.
14. Assist in developing a Change Management Process and Procedures to
enable smooth and efficient production migrations.
15. Assist with data modeling and query tuning to achieve maximum
performance while retrieving data from database structures.
16. Assist developers with test planning, test conditions, and
obtaining test data.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must meet all the following minimum qualifications:
1.One (1) year experience within the last three (3) years working in
Web Development using Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship
Management (CRM) 4.0 software development tools.
2.Three (3) years experience within the last five (5) years working
with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases for architecture, management
and data manipulation.
3.Three years exp within the last five years working in web
development programming using tools such as C#.Net, Java Script, Cold
Fusion, Java, XML, AJAX and SOAP.
4.Two years exp within the last three years utilizing Cognos 8
development suite which includes Report Studio, Analysis Studio and
Transformer cubes.
5. One year experience within last five (3) years designing and
developing ETL utilities using SQL server integration services SSIS,
Oracle Warehouse Builder and decision Stream/ Data Manager programs
that retrieve and load data from/to SQL server or Oracle databases.
6. Two years experience within the last three years identifying and
documenting new system requirements along with Business Analysts and
End users.
7. One year experience within last three years working with System
Methodology SDM or System Development Life Cycle SDLC.
