OBJECTIVE: A software engineering position involving the design, development, and
implementation of systems and application software on PC's or Unix-based
workstations.

EDUCATION:
Aug '92 - M.S. Computer Science
Present Florida State University Expected Graduation: July 1994

Jan '90 - B.S. Computer Science
July '92 Minor: Mathematics
Florida State University Graduated: Cum Laude (Honors)

PROJECTS:
* Designed and implemented a multimedia online document management system
MetaLib, for a networked Unix environment. This project involved an
interweb of network librarians, facilitating the management of user interest
profiles and documents published in the system. Automatic and hypertext
based retrieval mechanisms were provided to access online documents across
the network. The project was implemented using "C"and Unix system calls.
The Graphical User Interface to the application was developed for a X
Windows environment using Motif.

* Kernel level modification of the Minix operating system. This project
involved the design and modification of the process scheduler to support a
priority based scheduling algorithm. This project also involved
modifications to the memory managment unit, in order to improve the
efficiency of the systems memory allocation to processes.

* Implemented a subset of the C-Compiler for a Sparc machine.
This involved a step-by-step production using lex and yacc to go through the
scanning, parsing, and semantic analysis as well as the code generation
phases. Certain code optimizations were also performed. The compiler was
developed using "C".

* Designed and implemented a Local File Transfer Protocol using sockets.

* Implemented a Signature Recognizing Algorithm for the Khoros Graphical Library.

* Developed a large subset of a Unix shell using system level routines.

WORK
EXPERIENCE: Research Assistant, Florida State University, Department of Psychology.
Mar '92 - Developed various applications on PC's pertaining to scientific research
Jan '94 in the fields of Neuro-Biology and NeuroScience. The application
programming involved the interfacing of software to the Gould
Oscilloscope/SpectraScope, Pressure Transducers, and various other
electronic devices. Also responsible for system administration of
a local area network consisting of Sparc workstations and PC's.

May '90 - MicroComputer Consultant, Micro Support Group (FSU Computing Ctr.)
Mar '92 Duties included helping students, staff, and faculty with computer hardware
and software problems. Was also in-charge of campus hotline to assist
students with programming and using applications on MacIntosh, PC's, and
the Internet.
