depreciation, bank accounts, and inter-company balances.
- Review General Ledger entries, where there are foreign
debtors and creditors, to monitor the forex gains or
losses as 3 currencies are used in the ledger
- Maintaining the insurance status and claims records for
the company's assets which include a fleet of 190 haulage
trucks & trailers (valued at Z$42 million / US$1.09
million), workshop plant & equipment, and premises.
- Managing an accounts department comprising 8 staff
members.
- Monitor a computer network with 8 PCs and ensuring that
all network procedures pertaining to Pastel (V.4)
Accounting Package are adhered to.
- Maintaining salaries and staff records of senior
employees (payroll of 78 employees).
- Liaising with 3 sister companies based in Southern Africa
regarding month-end inter-company reconciliations.
* Accomplishments:
- Established and fostered dialogue between
interdepartmental personnel.
- Improved the efficiency of posting and payment of all
creditors invoices resulting in the payment of long
outstanding balances.
- Helped recover long outstanding foreign receivables worth
US$110 000.
- Improved relations with insurance broker leading to the
quick recovery of insurance claims worth Z$1,12
