As a member of the Drug Metabolism Technology Group, the individual will participate in drug discovery and development by developing and applying in vitro techniques to the study of drug metabolism, including the use of high-throughput technologies. Responsibilities may also include the investigation of key drug metabolism issues for advanced drug candidates. Motivated, research-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; and, experience with standard PC programs and analytical instrumentation required. Significant experience in in vitro drug metabolism studies with hepatocytes or subcellular fractions, enzyme kinetics, electronic data handling and automation desired. B.S. degree, or the equivalent, in the biological sciences required. M.S. degree in the biological sciences desired.

The successful candidate will investigate mechanisms of chemical-induced toxicity at a molecular or biochemical level using established techniques in biochemistry or molecular biology. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the planning, execution, and data analysis of experiments, organ culture, and preparation and culture of tissue from human or animals. BS degree in Toxicology or Molecular Biology or equivalent required. MS degree in Toxicology or Molecular Biology desired. 2 years relevant laboratory experience required. 3-5 years relevant laboratory experience in toxicology/molecular biology desired. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with broad research experience in applying molecular biology techniques to address mechanisms of toxicity and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to address mechanisms of toxicity through peer reviewed publications is highly desirable. *2 openings

Clone and express potential targets for intitial characterization. Minimum of two years experience in molecular biology, protein expression and tissue culture required. Relevant experience in genomics including expression microarrays and experience with applied bioinformatics and/or proteomics desired. B.S. degree, or the equivalent, in biology or related field required.

Will be responsible for the development and scale-up of processes from flasks through multi-liter laboratory and pilot plant bioreactors and, as required, technology transfer to production. Selected assignments will require development of product analysis and purification protocols. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the application of fermentation technologies to the production of recombinant proteins in bioreactors and a demonstrated capability to perform independent research. Experience in the expression of recombinant proteins using microbial and mammalian cell culture systems with knowledge of seperation technology/analytical techniques required. BS degree or equivalent required. BS degree with 1-2 years experience desired. Experience with GLP desired.

Experience working with or generating transgenic models and high throughput genomic technologies would also be valuable. Good written and oral communication skills as well as a publication record are desirable. Minimum BS and 2 years experience in related fields is required. MS is desired.
