Any reply is much appreciated

Signal has a deal (at least in US) where you get closing prices on
everything (except bonds I think) for $30/month if you pay for the
year. (add $300 for receiver). Only downside is no historical data,
but there are cd roms available for <$100. Compuserve is expensive if
you follow many markets, and they have historicals. Take a look at the
thread "Critique Your Data Providor". I will probably go with one of
the providers that has ftp'able data as a backup ($10/month, but can't
use downloader, use script file). So far I am really enjoying Signal, no
more modem hassles.

Cheers,

All true and Sinal IS GREAT, but you should have some backup data
vendor! Not impossible to get a bad quote, some downtime(VERY RARE)
etc... I use and recommend Signal, I also have a backup.....

Try Telescan, it's the best bang for the buck- $25 a month unlimited data.

I know nothing of the downloaders you've mentioned here. I currently use
"Downloader" by Equis to download data into metastock. This has
worked well for me using Dow-Jones Service. I think the current
cost is about 30-35 dollar range for "all you can eat" end of the
day quotes.

I searched all over the net for leads on a cd-rom source for historical data,
and could not find any. Does anybody know of a source for a cd-rom that
contains historical futures data? If not, is the information available via
ftp or www?

Does Signal have end of day information for active futures options?

Thanks!

I also want advice on which data source to get but by requirements are
slightly different. As I am UK based I would especially like UK equity
prices.

Does anyone have prices and E-mail addresses for:
Telescan
Equis
Signal / DBC

and any experience of using them in the UK

I have been thinking of hanging on until quote.com start supplying UK
prices. Does the US quote.com service easily download into metastock?

Regards

Randeep
