Hi,
I'm looking for a free web site to retrieve fundamentals not just of the
current year (for example I'd like to find ROE of the past 5-10 years).
Am I wasting my time?

Thanks in advance.

I think you can access some of this info if you have Quicken 2005 or
later.

http://www.quicken.com/investments/seceval/?p=&tag=1

The canonical source would be the "Edgar" archive of company reports
at http://www.sec.gov. This may not currently have the kind of
database-like
search or filtering you may thinking of like some commercial web-sites
have for price and technical data, but it's the straight-up truth about
all the lies corporate America has put in writing in the last few years...

I think a few lies have been included in the EDGAR data:

http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?action=getcompany&CIK=0001024401

Exactly. There are lies, damn lies, and corporate reports...

But historically, it's interesting to look at those reports now and
try to puzzle out why the hell people thought it deserved such a
tremendous market cap and growth outlook, just like nobody
with a brain who read them at the time could figure it out. The
answer, of course, was the deluge of press releases and "investor
relations" with the largely idiotic financial press that was Enron's
true distinguishing business "strategy".

But if it wasn't for idiots buying corporate press release BS
and newsletter crapola and "investment guru" blather, there
wouldn't be the near the kind of ridiculous market mispricing
that is so profitable for others...
