There has been a huge amount of rubbish posted about short selling and
BSC, not the least of which is this silly nonsense posted recently by
Comix.

Comix, pay attention:
Bear Stearns is an investment bank, and there was a run on it.

That is so, according to Bear Stearns head of risk management for
Europe and Asia:

``It's publicly known that a lot of individuals in the company own a
good part of the company so we clearly believe there was value in the
organization, but when there is a run on the bank there's nothing you
can do. I guess we have to grin and bear it and move on to a strong
partnership with JPMorgan.''

(note: If this gentleman's name is any indication he's likely of
Indian ancestry and has brown skin; you may expect to hear more
nonsense from S4B's like comix that he's a terrorist or that he is
socialist scum etc etc ad nauseum.)

Well, they don't call him Comix for nothing. Such nonsense is comical,
but not nearly as comical as the notion that short selling is for
'scum', that bearishness is unpatriotic, and that buying DXD is for
socialists.

However, short selling makes an important contribution to the market.
It provides liquidity, drives down overpriced securities, and
generally increases the efficiency of the markets.

In fact, Marvin Pierce Bush, the youngest brother of President George
W. Bush is a short seller.

Currently, Marvin Bush is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at the
investment firm Winston Capital Management, located in McLean,
Virginia. He has portfolio manager duties at Winston.

From the Company website:

"Winston's hedge fund products seek to provide individual and
institutional investors with diversified exposure to hedge funds.
Winston manages several funds of funds, which are multi-manager
portfolios of hedge funds. We focus exclusively on fundamental,
research-driven "long/short equity" hedge fund strategies."

If short selling is for 'scum' then why does President Bush's family
do it?
