Facebook to Charge a Fee?

Share prices for so many of the biggest tech companies have plummeted
over the past year. Myriads of companies have announced plans to let
go of more than 24,000 workers, and no one doubts more layoffs are
coming soon. Even Google's fabled free-food privileges are being cut
back.

An interesting way to offset costs was a rumor I read that Facebook
might start charging. How many people are addicted .. I can boost my
three children would be paying customers. What do you think will
happen if Facebook charges??

It will loose traffic, maybe 20%... if its a minor charge.

Major charge would empty their site imo.

thats because there are many free options, and more will spring up if
facebook charges. they need to get their revenue from the
advertising.

Many users are broke kids, so they will dump Facebook like a bad habit
and jump on the next free train that comes along. Just as My Space
was shadowed by Facebook, a charge will make this new train arrive at
the station sooner. Not a good idea for Facebook to charge a fee.
They need to look at a way to increase their advertising profits.
