Iraqi oil minister Hussein al-Shahristani has met executives of Canadian
independent Ivanhoe Energy to discuss development of a heavy oil field
in Iraq using Ivanhoe's heavy oil upgrading technology, the Iraqi oil
ministry said.
The Ivanhoe team expressed an interest in working to help rehabilitate
Iraqi oil fields and help improve production from the designated oil
fields, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The two sides discussed setting up a special unit to help improve the
quality of crude oil from the Qaiyarah oil field in northern Iraq for
refining and export.
Ivanhoe was not among the 35 international companies that qualified to
bid in Iraq's first post-war bid round. However, the Canadian
independent has been in negotiations with the Iraqi ministry since the
end of 2004, when the two sides signed an MOU to evaluate the Qaiyarah
field.
Ivanhoe said in April last year it had signed an agreement with Japan's
Inpex Corp. to jointly pursue the development. Ivanhoe, a Vancouver,
Canada-based independent producer, said at the time it believed the
project was a "suitable candidate" for its HTL heavy oil upgrading
technology.

Told ya its a dog back at $4, repeated at 3-2-1. Please pick a stock
over $3 so i can make more $$$ shorting these dum-assed picks.
Any news on when the terms will be violated and the Tar Sands project
foreclosed on? What bright, well endowed investor warned you about
the escalating costs of Tar Sands and the dangers of investing in pump
and dumps????
The boys at TLM must be laughing their asses off about that pump and
dump Tar sale.
Hey, Suey-Side. . . . how much did you lose in this pumper of a
dumper????
Sooey-Side is investing all his LDK profits in IVAN...OOOPS... there were
no profits
back in Sept.08 when the stock was $50ish sooey STATED:
"I've been trading this stock for over a year now[[the $70-20 range]] ...
I'll bet the farm they'll take it back to $76 or higher. .... I wouldn't
be surprised to see LDK break $100 this time. "

Ivanhoe Energy Ecuador signs contract with state oil company
Petroecuador to develop Ecuador's Pungarayacu heavy-oil field.
Are you insinuating that ausound's picks are worthless? <smile>
Looks like they fooled not only Iraq, China, but Ecuador and other
counties, as well.
As sweet oil dries up, I'll leave this for the grandkids to cash in on,
since I own some too.
ausound, you still holding?
--- "be greedy when others are fearful."

closed out the last of IVAN position along time ago
I've traded IVAN multiple times
in the range of somewhat profitable to really profitable
the 2006 presidents letter to shareholders
[back when companies actually mailed paper to you]
there's a hint of a timeline
I'm waiting
also check the sec.gov
seems they pulled a "clean harbor" and bought puts on themselves, cos the
"derivitives profits put them into the profitable black MRQ
and they got a big nut at years end
Promissory Note
In connection with the acquisition in July 2008 described in Note 14, the
Company issued a promissory note to Talisman Energy Canada (“Talisman”)
in the principal amount of Cdn.$12.5 million bearing interest at a rate
per year equal to the prime rate plus 2%, calculated daily and not
compounded, and maturing on December 31, 2008 (the “2008 Note”).
...........
I could go on & on
IVAN will continue to be a "trading" stock generating fast quick gains
and quicker losses to the nimble and the slugs
don't think it'll be an "investment" kind of stock this week or next
..
these guys are creating a company for the NEXT hundred years
foregoing fast buck financing which gives away "points"
going the slow and steady self financed vertical growth following a
logical business plan
the global semi-autonomous division structure I am assuming takes money
to fill redundant GM's, VP's, EVP's, office managers this will increase
their SGA which will more than offset income from the growth in the
china operation
they selected a strategic partner a long time ago and, again, I will
assume, syntroleum will rally along with IVAN when the second working
model comes online
The long term chart indicates they/them bought a bunch of shares below a
dollar in the mid2002-mid2003 consolodation and sold them for nice
profits above $4 and for the last 5 years anytime above $2.50
I seem to recall some major oil co has some sort of deadline in 2009 but
I can't seem to recall it quickly... and there's no rush IMO to find it
but I will ask anybody got that answer?
in summation: buy IVAN below a buck... watch the charts, there will be
profitable spikes to sell out quickly... going long as an investment ...
not this year... maybe next... they're secretive so you have to watch,
listen, dig, and be quick
