If I'm not mistakan, it's the Japanese concept / practice of good housekeeping
for quality improvement. The term "5S" represents 5 Japanese words, but this
does not mean that you have to be a Japanese to prcatice 5S.
SEIRI -- dispose off unnecessary items
SEITON -- arrange necessary items in a proper order so that they can
be easily picked up for use.
SEISO -- clean your workplace completely so that there is no dust
anywhere.
SEIKETSU -- maintain a high standard of house-keeping and workplace
organization at all times (through SEIRI, SEITON and SEISO).
SHITSUKE -- discipline oneself to adhere to specified standard practices
and rules / regulations of good house-keeping.
