Subject: ALERT - Ag worker amnesty attached to Iraq appropriations bill by Feinstein et al.
Feinstein (D-CA) had a 1+ million ag worker amnesty attached to the
Iraq appropriations bill, and the Senate Appropriations bill passed.
It will now go to the full Senate.

There is no real shortage of ag workers, all the "rotting crops"
stories never came true, and there's an existing program, H-2A, that
allows unlimited numbers of foreign ag workers. Exploitive employers
don't like to use it because it requires a decent wage,
transportations back to the border, etc.

As a further screw you to American workers, Feinstein's addendum
increases H-2B visas despite the ongoing unemployment,
underemployment, and depressed wages among tech workers.

Every previous amnesty has resulted in increases in illegal
immigration. Verification is notoriously lax, so we can't expect even
more people to be amnestied than even originally targetted.

Please, ask your Senators to pull the amnesty proposal from the Iraq
appropriations bill. At the very least, it needs to be debated on its
own, not snuck through in this underhanded fashion. The backers know
the American people are opposed to amnesties, which is why they're
resorting to these dishonest means.

Finally, please contact your friends, relatives, and the media about
this - exposure will encourage others to speak up and make it less
likely that it passes.
