Hi all,

Does anyone here knows the answer to my specific situation: I've been
physically in the US for over 14 years, legally of course (started as
F-1), optional practical training, got married to USC over 3 years ago,
applied and received permanent green card less than a year ago. I have
never left the country. So, the question is when can I apply for USC?
Thanks.

YOu become eligible for citizenship 3 years after becoming a PR,
provided that you are still married to the same US citizen then (it is 5
years else.) You can apply up to 90 days before that.
For details, see the "Guide to Naturalization", available on the USCIS
website.

You can apply three years minus 90 days after the day you became a PR.

The three years includes the two years you were a conditional permenant
resident, if you were in that situation.

Well, I just got my notice that my I-485 (employment based) application has
been approved - we get our green cards in two weeks.
My lawyer told me "Don't forget that you will be eligible for
naturalization in 4 years and 9 months."

We started the application in June of 2000.
