So I've been scanning through some work related newsgroups, and I just
happened upon this one.

This, and other US immigration newsgroups, seem pretty
anti-immigration. I understand the animosity towards illegal
immigration, and the immigration reforms. I can also understand the
desire to keep immigrant "indentured labor" out as well.

I wonder though, what you all think about someone in my situation. I'm
a Canadian who is living here legally on a work visa. I'm on the legal
path to residency and citizenship. I'm not stealing anyone's job
either, because:

-My company prefers to hire American because of the expenses involved
in moving someone here
-I'm in the same pay grade as my American colleagues
-We still have unfilled openings

I pay my taxes, and support local business. This country
isn't perfect, but I love it, and I want to settle here.

So what do you think? Is the animosity just towards illegals and
indentured labor, or do you want me out as well?

Actually, newsgroups in general are pretty much dead nowadays, except for some
trolls who are just talking among themselves.
You can safely ignore the anti-immigrant trolls in here and elsewhere. They are
just losers. Nobody with a brain wants anything to do with them.
These losers would never get a job, not even if there was no immigration. They
would just find some other group to blame.
