You could also do a trade certificate of some sort, but you would have
to be sure that you could pass a skills assessment by the TRA.
When I was considering a diploma I found (in TAFE NSW anyway) that they
did some diplomas and advanced diplomas and had some sort of agreement
with some universities that would give up to 100% credit for units comp-
leted, being able to go straight into 3rd year of degree.
This is not a general rule and you could find yourself doing a 2
year diploma and only getting 1 years credit for it when you go to
University.
I'd speak to an agent if I was you, but personally I would go for a cou-
rse that gives you the best chance of residency at the end, if that is
indeed your main goal.
I'm doing a 3 year Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in accounti-
ng which will allow me to nominate 60 point occupation of accountant. I
have family in designated area, but I'm trying to widen my options and
chances of residency at the end.
