Here we go again.

A new year and a new case of another HIVer being persecuted by the
legal system for having immunity to HIV.

She offered sex for cash even though she knew she was HIV positive.

Toledoan Elizabeth Curtis, 26, has been found guilty of engaging in
solicitation after a positive HIV test.

Police say she offered sex to a pair of undercover cops back in
November for $10 each.

Curtis pleaded no contest and will be sentenced January 27. She could
get five years in prison.

You are insane. And assuming she did have immunity to HIV like
you claim to have, it does not mean the people she transmits the
virus to have similar immunity.

Does the name "Typhoid Mary" ring a bell?

She'll get no prison time, because no judge in his right mind
would lock a known HIV carrier in a cage with thousands of other
people - especially when the state must pay for prisoners'
medical treatment.

That's just tough luck, isn't it? I've already covered this is Usenet
article <1135.1256093...@hiv-poz.co.uk>, see

Let's follow your logic for a while and go with the notion that HIV,
the AIDS virus, does exist...

People who have a healthy immune system and become infected with HIV
are able to rid themselves of the virus within a few weeks.

It's people who already have immune system problems that are unable to
shake off the virus. Such people will obviously be at risk from all
viruses, including seasonal flu.

Seasonal flu is far more easily caught than HIV; in England and Wales
there are about 8,000 seasonal flu deaths per year, see
<http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8300518.stm>.

Now, let's compare that with HIV. HIV is very difficult to catch; HIV
related deaths in the UK during 2008 amounted to only 525, with this
caveat: "Includes all deaths of people diagnosed with HIV, with or
without a reported AIDS diagnosis." See
<http://www.avert.org/uk-race-age-gender.htm>.

So, seasonal flu is a lot more contagious than HIV and kills more than
fifteen times as many people (in the England and Wales) each year.

If I'm an insane, murdering, psychopath, how would you describe those
who have--and know they have--flu and continue to mix with others?

Are doting parents with flu who are at home looking after their
children psychopaths? Do care-givers who selfishly look after an
elderly relative become psychopaths simply because they have flu?

If you were genuinely interested in preventing the damage done by HIV
you would be campaigning to help those with the virus rid themselves
of it. Adequate nutrition, healthcare and living standards are all
that's need.

[...]

And, finally, here's an interesting factoid that's just bounced on to
my desk: fewer than 20% (17% according to MSNBC) of the UK's
healthcare workers are vaccinated against seasonal flu each year. Are
those who are unvaccinated psychopaths, putting the sick and
vulnerable people they work with at risk? I wonder how many of them
tell those they care for that they refused the free flu jab? See
<http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8317212.stm> and
<http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33399308/ns/health-swine_flu/>.

Plenty of people have already been sent to prison for having (immunity
to) 'HIV.'
