I dont do pullups or chins. I dont do any kind of rows either. Not good,
I know.
I think I can manage about 7 pull ups.

I must have too long of arms. And legs, or something. I've never
understood how an ATTG squat and deadlift can be so close. And I don't
even want to get into the C&J.
I can deadlift 275 kgs (607 lbs), but ATTG hi-bar squat I'd be lucky to
220 kgs. OTOH - I've benched raw 175 kgs, and right now I'm struggling
with a 115 kg C&J. Too slow, too old, I guess.

Do you put a lot of back in your deadlift?

I've done all my lifts in competition. So for the deadlift I've done
over 600 sumo style and conventional. Obviously sumo I don't use that
much back and I really don't do a round-back conventional either.

I compete at 100 kgs in powerlifting and have been going 94 kgs in
olympic weightlifting. I'm 48 years old. I've actually squatted 282.5 as
well, but that was low-bar, wide stance in a single poly suit and knee
wraps. Also benched 182.5 with a relatively loose single poly shirt.Best
snatch was done split style at 92.5 kgs.

Watched a guy, whose name escapes me, attempt (and fail) a 301kg bench on
Sunday. He was, however, one of the least healthy looking specimens I have
seen within the walls of a gym in a long time :) !!! There was a number of
marginally less-unhealthy looking guys who managed around the 280kg mark. I
saw Andy Bolton at the meet too, but as I couldn't recall whether we had
decided he was cheating or not with this 1003kg deadlift, I declined to
mention it to him!

You let the back round and use a lot of lower back. Some of the best
deadlifters ever use it - Kuc, Anello, Gant, etc.

Would you advise people who are less than elite lifters to round their
backs when deadlifting? (I am including you in the elite camp.) To
put it another way, what kind of lifter might want to consider
experimenting with a round-back conventional DL?
A lot of people do round when they get near the 1RM. No, I wouldn't. I
don't think my structure is set-up for that. Most have very short backs.

I got into serious bodybuilding about 10 years ago Bent over rows, T
bar rows were othe major excersizes for the back . I was 205 lbs. and
DL 520 LBs. What a tremendous feeling lifting up that weight. Excuse
my language but I thought for sure I was going to shit my pants the
last few inches I also did alot of shrugs.
Where are you guys from ?
Canada. Lifts are on www.powerlifting.ca and www.saskweights.com. Should
be easy to figure out the name.
