The updated version of the MFW Troll Filter FAQ is available at:

http://www.rustyiron.net/trollfaq.htm

This update includes new hints for killfiling Bill Davidson, MFW's
most prolific troll, who has recently found a Usenet provider that
provides limited Usenet headers for identification. Find out how to
identify and killfile Davidson's posts here:

http://www.rustyiron.net/davidson.htm

I just took it down. I noticed some inconsistencies in the path
across several posts where the suggested filter string was not always
present. There are some other strings that *are* always present, but
I want to be sure they are suitable for identification.

Stay tuned ...

And neither is the totally unbelievably silly Troll Filter FAQ.

As predicted it has made no difference to the dynamics of MFW and John
Williams is a "trolling" fraud trying to keep the "troll" wars alive
and active.

Trolling hasn't been mentioned since he last raised it. I leave you to
make up your own minds about who is doing the real "trolling" - the
Davidson psychopath notwithstanding. There is no getting rid of
Davidson as he is simply very unwell, and Williams doesn't have the
skills to cope with him.

Williams and Davidson are the only *real* "trolls" at MFW, and of the
two I prefer Davidson - at least you can recognise his twaddle for
what it is, and ignore it. Williams is a great deal more insidious, as
he adopts an oily plausibility while distracting us from his real
intentions, by sometimes posting loftily on-topic.

The Group has been going on quite nicely for a while now, but it is
clear that Williams doesn't want that, and obviously wants me
responding to his provocation, so he can get Lee and Will back
squabbling with Curt, The Oz and myself, while he limits himself to
his snide 3rd party sniping.

Don't be fooled by him folks, and for the more realistic MFW Troll
Filter FAQ you should see the updated:

You are too easily amused. But that OK. However, you also seem to be
one of the few remaining conduits for quoting troll posts.

Before Mr. Pompous starts blowing excretia out his keyboard, that
doesn't mean that I plan to "out" you or add your email address to the
"troll enablers" on the troll list. The best solution may be to just
put you on one of Forté Agent's "timed killfiles" for a few days at a
time and see how much of a difference it makes.

There is no doubt about John Williams, you are an absolute loon.
There's no-one taking any notice of your Troll Filter FAQ and no-ones
going to "killfile" Om, just because he posts responses to me, as do

So now you're not only a troll identifier (such an incredibly useful
and beneficial talent), but also a critic of what people find amusing?
Why is it that some seemingly can't recognize you as the idiot you
most certainly are? Odd.

And you don't recognize yourself in that category as well? Hey, mister
big oblivious conduit - how so? I mean don't you have JRH listed as a
so-called troll and yet here you are quoting his posts (which I've so
graciously snipped so as not to offend AAAAAAALLL the people who

Well, that was certainly worth reading again. And I'd love to read his
response.

Okay, psyche! Kidding. Fuck his response. And, no, he's certainly not
kidding me. I see him for a disgruntled poopoohead. Sad.

I can't respond to this Curt, as I do not want John Williams to label
me a "troll" enabler. ;o)

Heck, ol' Duuuuh-booya might put you on one of those, what was it? Oh,
yes, a secret mondo Free Agent temporary filter thingy. Uh, or
something like that.

THANKS FOR NOT ENABLING, OF COURSE!

Heh!

Have you managed to work out what Williams' motive is for constantly
fomenting all this dissension about "trolls"? Does he *really* think
that he himself is not a "troll", and that the rest of the Group see
him as some sort of Saviour?

I have a clerk who is from the east end of London, with a great sense
of humour and a fantastic Cockney accent. He said when I showed some
of Williams' posts: "Eh? Is 'e for real Mr H.; he sounds a right
c***."

I think that sums it up nicely! ;o)

You probably don't know the background, but Williams' has been a
figure of fun at my Firm for some years, as I have shared some of his
idiocy with my colleagues and friends, both at work and on social
occasions at home.

In fact a copy of his .jpeg is still on the cork board in the typing
pool, which is an old fashioned name for where all the clerks and
admin staff have their 'cubicles'.

It is very poorly written which only adds to his idiocy. Did you see
"asterick"? ;o)
