Just letting you know dude...
I had totally quit lifting for a couple of months when this all started.
The seated horizontal press seemed to be safe enough, but wasn't.
I think diet had a lot to do with it too. Eating a lot of collagen
(again) just for the past 3 days appears to have helped a LOT with the
pain. Fortunately, I happen to like it and it's cheap.
What is irritating is that walking, standing etc. is not the problem.
Driving and attempting to sleep is...
It's weird, and annoying. I need sleep.

What form are you eating it in?

Stewed.
Mostly chicken feet because I like them, but some trotters too. Pressure
cooked to jell.

Oh, trotters can be absolutely fantastic. I very rarely have them - never
cook them myself - but so tasty, and so rich. And certainly chock full of
collagen!
Never had chicken feet, though.
Have you read the McKenzie book yet, and have you tried implementing the
things he suggests? Based on what you've said about yourself and your
injury, it should literally be what the doctor ordered for you, save the
fact that most doctors don't think about this sort of stuff, of course.

They are a bit of a challenge to eat, but very tasty.
I've been keeping it simple, but there are a lot of interesting looking
Thai recipes for both of them on line.

Not yet. Money has been tight and I'd like to place an order for several
books. :-)
You can probably get the McKenzie book from your local library. It is
likely the answer to your problems, or at least the beginning of getting
you pointed in the right direction. I just checked my local library and
they have several copies available.

What was the title of this book? It should be google'able if it is any
good.

On amazon.com, 75 out of 100 reviews (interesting that there seem to
have been exactly 100 reviews) gave it 5 stars, the top rating. The
title is "Treat Your Own Back." It is worth noting, as I believed I
mentioned in an earlier reply to Om, that there is now an new edition
that includes McKenzie's back _and_ neck books under one cover,
entitled, "7 Steps to a Pain-Free Life: How to Rapidly Relieve Back and
Neck Pain". Either will work for Om.
My first copy was given to me by my first back doctor, and it was so
helpful to me that, a year or so later, I bought 10 copies and gave them
away to people I met with back troubles.

Here the price starts at $2.86, ships within USA and all fine. Not a real
budget breaker, so I simply stopped trying to steal it.
Now, this is for Om! He has a bad back and a tight budget, so any healthy
Kresus should be civil enough to wait his turn!

I stumbled on some reviews, serious scientific analysis of its efficacy and
all, so it looks like a real deal.

I could have, and probably did, tell you that already. Or maybe I
should have said it's efficacious instead of just good. :)
Steve, I may love you, but I don't believe you.

You're so cute when shrug your shoulders. :-)

Heh! I tend to forget about the library! It's right next to the city
center where I swim, and I do have a card...
Duh.
Thanks for the reminder!
In my town/county, the library system is county-wide, so when you look
up a book, it shows you which branches/towns have it. If it's not in
your local branch, you can ask to have it sent there right while you're
on the Internet, and they will call you when it comes in. Very handy.
In this case, the McKenzie book was actually not in my local town
library but there were one or more copies in four other towns, so I
would be able to get it in a few days.
Library = good. Plenty of folks here rent DVD/movies from the local
library.
But it hurts when I shrug my left shoulder now - just picture me
shrugging only the right one. :)
Actually, the shoulder continues to improve, and I do shrugs/circles
with both shoulders every day.
> Library = good.
One of the defining institutions of a civilised society, i always say.

MADSKILLZ!
You guys still can show up with the stuff, which makes me yellow from
jealousy. Our libraries suck. Which reminds me, that I have several boxes
of books, which need donating somewhere.

Indeed...
I put it on Order this morning.
I remember living up in the mountains above Denver in Colorado.
The local Bookmobile would get in books by request...
Libraries, as you say, are a good thing! It's just been awhile since I
used them.

Time time time... and patience.
I talked to the Chiro' this morning about the leg press. He says he is
pleased with my progress and things are loosened up enough now where he
feels he can do better adjustments. (He can feel the bones move when he
does his thing which is good).
I should not try to do any leg work until he feels I'm more
"stabilized", whatever that means. <g>
The Scubapro fins will work legs for now. All in good time.
Donate them to the local library. :-) It might help!
Too bad the average I.Q. of Denver went down 80 points.
In the past 3 days.
