I'm a 22 year old woman and I'm trying to get my body fat down from
around 35% now. I've been lifting weights for about six weeks, doing
a full-body workout twice a week, and I've been jogging up to 4 miles
about 3 times a week. I'm also eating sensibly without really
counting calories. Am I on the right track, or am I hitting the
cardio too hard/not hard enough?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Angela
Studies show most people underestimate their calories. It's really important
to count them. You can do that easily with a free account at www.fitday.com.
Lifting 2x per week is helpful but 3x would be much better.
Lift "heavy". Don't waste your time doing umpteen reps. Concentrate on
compound exercises like squats, bench presses and lat pulls. Forget
isolation exercises for at least a couple of months.
Go here to learn about the various exercises:

Do 3 sets of 8-12 reps. Try to increase the reps or weight at each workout.
You won't always be able to but try. When you can do 12 reps on all sets
increase the weight and drop back to 8 reps.

The amount of cardio you are doing is fine. It would be best if you did it
on the days you didn't lift.

You took medical advice from a book with a spelling mistake in the
