Depends where he started from.

Connecticut. Via Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma,
the top of Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Las Vegas, San Diego, and LA.
Somewhere in the heat and humidity we started to drift apart and when
we got to her home in Oakland I don't know if we even stopped for
lunch. And we didn't even run out of Lucky Lager.

I've been remediated about as far as I can absorb. You went via
Louisiana, and all those eastern states are so tiny. If you're
crossing Louisiana, how far do you stay from Baton Rouge?

According to Google Maps, Monroe is less than 200 miles from Baton
Rouge.

(I never finished watching the Revolution TV show. Was the Monroe
"Republic" based in Monroe Louisiana, or was it named after a leader?)

Only if it's free. But then, Freedom's just another word for nothing left
to lose. And nothing ain't worth nothing if it ain't free.

I suppose you'll tell me there wasn't any thumbing down a diesel and riding
it all the way to New Orleans, either.

"if it ain't"?

The version I knew (before Janis) had "but it's free".

Sure, but given that I said it started in Connecticut already, I just
assumed that Howard figured that Baton Rouge was near Hartford.

I'm mildly allergic to garlic. If I overdo it I end up with hives. So I
think I'll pass.

I saw it from the bus. We were in San Jose pretty quick after that.

Yeah, pretty quick, I reckon, prolly maybe 15-25 minutes, not too
long. It's weird, that stretch of highway. A couple of times, maybe
a few times, I drove the cube truck for the farm from Palo Alto and
man, that's a bit of a road trip right there, freakin' PA to Aromas
down 101 with a couple of pickups along the way. This is not in a
semi, that's a different life, but done that too,..........
