The fact of the matter is that most Republicans SUPPORTED NAFTA, but
most Democrats opposed it.
So, if you're opposed to NAFTA, then you should oppose the
Republicans, and you should support the Democrats.
Furthermore, what this means is that Clinton is not as Liberal as the
Republicans claim he is. It also goes to show you, anyone who votes
with the Republicans, on any issue, is making a big mistake, as
Clinton did.
Any Democrat who votes with the Republicans will anger the Democrats
(for doing what is bad), but then they will also anger the Republicans
at the same time (because the brainless Republicans are always angry
anyways at anyone who is a Democrat, period). So why would any
Democrat have any respect for any Republican, or any respect for what
the Republicans stand for? President Obama is, right now, making a
big mistake in his attempt to be bipartisan while trying to institute
health care reform. He's watering down health care reform too much
with his attempt to please those Republicans. He's making a big
mistake, because he's assuming that Republicans are sane people, and
they're not. He thinks that they will appreciate that he coming over
to their side and compromising his principles. They will not
appreciate him at all, and history is a good indicator, all they will
do is deride him.
So where does all this Republican insanity come from? None other than
the FOX non-news propaganda network. They are the ones who started
trashing Clinton after he helped pass NAFTA, but what they completely
overlooked is the fact that Clinton got NAFTA passed, in the first
place, because most of the Republicans in the Senate voted in favor of
NAFTA (but most of the Democrats in the Senate voted against NAFTA).
Also, most of the Republicans in Congress voted in favor of NAFTA (but
most of the Democrats in Congress voted against NAFTA).
There is something far more sinister going on here than just the issue
of NAFTA. What this shows is how powerfully and how effectively our
mass media manipulates and distorts information, and it's done mainly
via the FOX propaganda network (and also via the plethora of AM hate
radio stations thru out the country).
Unfortunately, all the legitimate news stations out there, such as
ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and so on, they all have a tendency to treat FOX as
if it is a legitimate news outlet, and they are constantly repeat
FOX's propaganda and lies, just because of this journalistic zeal to
avoid being "scooped up" by another news station. But here's the
thing, FOX is NOT a news station.
The most obvious and egregious example of this was when we saw all the
war hype leading up to the invasion of Iraq. Think about it. And
think about those studies that showed that most of the people who
watch FOX also falsely believe that Iraq had WMD's and most of these
same people also falsely believe that Iraq had connections to the Al
Qaeda terrorists who attacked us on 9/11/01.
This is how the news is poisoned, thru out the country, this is how
misinformation is spread all over America. 'Fox and Friends'?
Really? With friends like that, who needs enemies.
Myself, I never, never, never, ever watch FOX. I never watch it.
Even while channel surfing, I quickly pass over FOX, so I won't stay
on it for more than a split second. I don't want to see their
blasphemy. That is not a news station. That's a news distortion
station.
That's right, 'We distort, you decide'. FOX is not news, it's really
malicious garbage, anti-American propaganda, deliberately designed to
mislead you into doing the wrong thing. FOX has no credibility
whatsoever, and anyone who listens to them has no credibility
either.
Check out this link:
As to the matter of Obama making a mistake trying to get bipartisan
support in Congress for healthcare reform legislation instead of ramming
it through, you are ignoring one simple truth: there are not enough
votes in either house of Congress to pass healthcare reform legislation
as originally proposed by the Obama administration, even though
Democrats predominate in both houses. This is because not all Democratic
legislators support the original proposals, such as single payer, or
some form of public option.

If you never, never, ever watch FOX news, now do you know that Fox News
distorts the news?
He watches MSNBC distort what FOX said.

So you really have no idea what you're talking about?
Is that what you're taking so many words to say?
> I don't want to see their blasphemy.
Ah! So it's a issue of blind, unreasoned faith for you?
Thanks for the clarification.

Actually NAFTA was more or less a comprimise between Gingrich and
Clinton. And NAFTA has worked out pretty well, at least at the
Canadian end. Canada has become our number one trade partner. The
Mexican end is a disaster, however. We may need to rethink that part
of it.
Do you need to eat shit to know it tastes like shit?
Yep!
NAFTA was VERY popular with "W". It was less popular with the GOP members
of congress but there is no question that they went along.
Among the "little people" of the GOP, NAFTA wasn't all that popular. Us
ordinary Republican types didn't like the idea of good jobs being exported
to Mexico.
When BJ Clinton ran for POTUS he claimed to be against NAFTA but then double
crossed his supporters.

But, but ....
They is no evidence that the democRATs are working toward taking down NAFTA.
"O" could likely make it a dead letter over night, for example. He
hasn't.
You can go on your private witch hunt but you will find that most of the
natioanl "movers and shakers" will support NAFTA no matter what they say for
public consumption.
Most of the "little people" (Republican and democRATs alike) tend to think
it was/is a mistake.
NAFTA was GHW Bushes pet project, then when the congress went
Republican it passed and Clinton was dumb enough to sign it. If
Clinton had been from an industrial state he would have known better.
