This week guest commentator Poor Elijah (Peter Berger) unloads on all those special interests that attempt to capture a piece of the K-12 curriculum; and, in the process squeeze out academics. The Irascible Professor generally agrees with Berger's concerns, but cautions that even in the "good old days" plenty of time was devoted to "non-academic" activities in school.
