Tinker's Guild - The Amateur Scientist
For over seventy years, whenever students, teachers, or science enthusiasts
wanted to do cutting edge science at home, they turned to the pages of
Scientific American's popular column "The Amateur Scientist". The column has
inspired thousands of winning science fair projects and launched countless
careers in science and engineering. Now, the entire run of this world-famous
science resource is available on an easy-to-use CD-ROM.
Whether you want to extract DNA in your kitchen, shoot pictures of a comet,
grow microscopic organisms, construct your own laser or build a telescope, this
CD will give you the nuts-and-bolts tips you need to do real science at home or
in the classroom. There are over 1,100 projects covering every field of
science. Plus, we've added thousands of pages of extra tips and hints on
everything from raising tadpoles to making your own glassware. A built-in
search engine and browsable indexes makes finding projects a snap. All projects
are rated for cost, difficulty, subject matter, and potential hazards. No
wonder computer columnist John Bollinger called this product "the science deal
of the century". Visit http://www.tinkersguild.com/

VitaSay
As parents, we all know that feeling of pride, hope and excitement when our
children say their first words. That excitement can soon turn to concern if a
child begins to struggle with speech. A new speech and language learning
program, called VitaSay, is a series of CD's and language activity cards for
parents to use with their children. VitaSay uses the voices and language
patterns of real children to teach and motivate your child towards better
speech.
Each CD and language activity set is targeted towards a different stage of a
child's development, from womb sounds, to the early infant & toddler stage, to
the developing language patterns of 2 thru 4 year olds.
VitaSay works by having your child listen to normal speech and vocal sounds
from children near their own age. By using children's voices instead of adults,
VitaSay takes advantage of our children's natural ability to mimic their peers.
VitaSay also includes interactive sessions between parent and child that expand
upon the real speech models learned on the CD's. This has rewards for both the
parent and child, allowing the parent to participate in the child's development
and providing the child with recognition for his or her achievements. Teachers,
parents and children have all begun to notice significant results from the
VitaSay system. Visit http://www.vitasay.com today!

Fun With Languages
Fun With Languages is founded on the belief that language is the single most
important gift we give our children and grandchildren. We recognize how
important it is for you to nurture and encourage your child's developing
language skills.
Throughout the Video and DVD we used art, music, puppets, words and rhymes to
introduce babies and toddlers to 2 different languages at the same time in an
easy and FUN way. You do not have to be bilingual to enjoy the program because
we specifically created the program to be a teaching aid for parents and
grandparents.
"Whether you are English-speaking and want to introduce your child to another
language, or trying to teach your children-or yourself-English as a second
language, our program is designed to make learning language exciting and fun,"
says Rick Hinds. "Our philosophy is that as the United States becomes more
richly diverse, with Hispanic, Asian and other ethnic groups growing in size,
all of our children will be better prepared for the future if they learn other
languages now. "For questions, product samples, articles, helpful teaching
hints, and ordering information visit the web site at www.funwithlanguages.com

AlphaSongs
AlphaSongs is a collection of 26 original songs, one for each letter in the
alphabet, designed to help beginning readers master the sounds of the alphabet
letters.
Produced from an adult perspective in styles ranging from blues to rock to
country, it has been called the first adult-friendly children's album. Whether
viewed as kid's music for grown-ups or grown-up music for kids, this is not
your standard children's fare.
Written and performed by songwriter/kindergarten teacher, Greg Whitfield, along
with some of the premiere musicians of Austin, Texas, AlphaSongs takes the
listener on an unforgettable journey through the alphabet. The stories and
characters encountered along the way leave children with a concrete memory of
each letter and its sounds. As these songs build phonemic awareness in young
readers, the effect on reading fluency is startling.

Razzmatazz for Kids is based in Canada.
Both of the Razzmatazz for Kids recordings can be used to enhance creativity,
physical activity, musical experience, language exposure and other types of
learning. The lively, rhythmic, music inspires joyful participation in
toddlers, pre-schoolers, and the younger elementary grades. Sandy and T.C. sing
the original and traditional songs, which range from the wacky to the sublime,
with children's voices on some songs. Acoustic instruments, such as guitar,
fiddle, mandolin, banjo, accordion, and all types of percussion create the
rich, natural sound that fills both of these recordings. Keyboard, electric
bass, electric guitar, and drums accompany some of the songs.
In "Suitcase full of Songs", (available in CD), the children flap their arms
and cluck like chickens in "The Chicken Pox Blues", and become fiddles in
"Dum-Dee-Di-Dee-Diddily-Do". In "Razzmatazz for Kids" (self titled, available
in cassette), the kids get involved shaking ("The Crazy Shakedown"), hugging
("Going to My Grandma's), and walking, riding bikes and blasting off to the
moon ("Get Your Feet A'Walkin'"). Both recordings have some French and Hebrew
songs. Parents and kids alike enjoy the music and the fun on these recordings.
