Does anybody know FOR A FACT how John Boehner pronounces his last name?
My guess would be Benner, for obvious reasons, but that's just a guess.

Yep, what Jeff said. "Bay-ner." I thought perhaps it was actually
pronounced like it's spelled and the Senator just pronounced it differently
for the obvious reason, but I found someone named "Boeh" who says that's
pronounced "Bay" ( http://www.boehmandolins.com/index.php?p=1_4_About ) so
it must be some German/Dutch/whatever pronounciation.

If it's German, you hold your mouth for ooooo as in movie and say eeee
as in bee. You end up with kind of an R sound, which is why Goebbels
seems to be pronounced Gerbils (with a hard G, not soft).
