Basically what the article is saying is "frugal is the new black".
However, Hollywood and rock star types have always "slummed" it by
getting unique duds at vintage (aka Thrift) stores. And "rich" people
didn't get that way by spending their money. Ever see that commercial
where the guy is mowing his yard, showing off all his "stuff" and ends
it with "I'm up to my eyeballs in debt" (with a strained smile)?
Those are the ones who are "spending".

I've had the acting poor down pat so long that it's no longer an act.
Now I just have to perfect the "rich" part. This is going to be much
harder.
