Paper plates now stick together!

I used to buy paper plates and they were all loose...

Lately I buy them and several individual plates will stick together. I
gather they are trying to get people to use more paper plates?

I pry them apart so I am only using one. I also use paper plate
holders so I only need to use one thin paper plate.
