Partially. *mo...@assholes.org, but not * of them. I'm a hopeful sort of
person :-)

Different problem. It's really sad what shitheads have done to usenet. It
just works SOOO much better than any of the web-based equivalents -- including
facebook, which is a piece of shit. I've chatted with 'friends' via usenet
since 1994; I'm pretty sure that never would have happened had the webcrap
been introduced first.

It's a sin to make it easier to babble than to communicate.

AMEN!!!

I laugh at my older adult friends who started using
FaceBook and clamor abt how nice it is to "keep in
touch"!

I've been doing it for decades with Usenet...and Usenet
is STILL superior!

Yep.

Its fading away fast now tho.

I've found that with some technical areas, its got very little coverage now.

I just ran into another example of the mindless little hitlers with a technical
web forum recently. One seller of computer parts has a system of free
shipping for members of that forum, but they require you to enter a
particular code on the online form to get it, but they wont tell you what
the code is. I asked about the code in the forum and did get the answer,
but I noticed that that thread got deleted very quickly from the forum.
They dont delete threads normally.

Seriously. What is it with FB? Does anyone think anyone, even their friends,
care about what they're planning to eat for dinner tonight? Boring. A lot.
Twice.
