One assumption of mine which hasn’t been proven, but seem to match of
mystery of the unconnected paths and bike lanes, is that one
contractor makes 10,000 bucks here and 100,000 there, and they never
bother to do a path that leads anywhere. That would explain the case
of the fancy “mixed facility” between 65th and 79th st, which fell
short of reaching the park next to it by a mere 50 feet. But what’s
that compared to the stupidity that went into building the pyramids?
