How to Optimize Pantry Shelving

cooking will be much easier when you optimize your pantry shelving to
make it easier to store and find your kitchen essentials

The fist step in optimizing your pantry shelving is to take a look at
what is there. Do you have a lot of spices, canned goods, bottles,
boxes, or bags? Do you store kitchen utensils on your pantry shelves

Shelf Assignments

Assign a home for each different type of item. Have one shelf for
cereals, one for canned foods, one for spices and another for prepared
boxed meals such as macaroni and cheese. If you need to, you can split
a shelf between for different foods. Be sure to keep the multiples of
each food together so you can see at a glance how much of something
you have. Store taller items on the back of the shelves. This makes
them easier to see, thus easier to find.

Reduce Dead Space

Look inside your cabinet, and think through how you want to arrange
everything. Containerize your groupings to keep them together and more
easily accessible when you put them back into the pantry, and put any
loose food into airtight containers to keep it fresh and easier to
grab and go. Using stackable containers helps keep your pantry neat
and your food easy to see and access.

Useful and Attractive Canisters

Find canisters or other holders for noodles, flour, sugar, rice,
popcorn, or other foods that come in flimsy plastic or paper bags.

Label
Once you've decided where everything should go, keep it there by
labeling the container or spot properly. Changing a container's
contents? No problem. Change its label, too
