the dollar went in 62, or whatever year, get out your crying towel.

Also compare your income. 1962 was about a dollar and hour. We did
not have HiDef TV or computers AT ANY PRICE so that is a
consideration.

I think I felt about 45 years younger, too.

It is a good calculator and I appreciate your link.

An interesting calculator. According to it, assuming it's accurate
and I have no reason to doubt it, what cost $1 in 1962 now costs
$7.15. I can tell you that my income is significantly more than 7.15
times what it was in 1962. Using that as a scale, things are quite a
bit cheaper for me now, and I suspect most other people too, than they
were then. I certainly enjoy a much higher standard of living than I
did then.

update: I heard on the airwaves, you now need an extra .30 to have the full
value of the dollar. So get another part time job to buy what you bought
last year, is what it comes down to.
