Many Uses of Wood Ash.

Of course it sweetens the soil. High in Potash too.
Buffers acid soil. Loosens clay soil, and
keep some in the car trunk for winter conditions. and '
Wood Ash is a fire extinguisher.
any other ideas?

Wood ash can be used outside on ant nests to kill the nest. Do not use in areas
where children play, pets run or livestock graze. Wet wood ash is lye. Lye is
very bad on skin and can kill animals that ingest it. Meanwhile, it does seem
to kill unwanted ant nests with minimum fuss.
