Huckabee supporters - get more for your money

Romney is out of the race now, and Mike Huckabee is putting up a real
fight for the Republican nomination, recently beating McCain 2 to 1 in the
last 3 states. (and coming within just 3% of McCain in the third)

It's tough for Huckabee, though, because the political machine
establishment seems to largely favor McCain. I also do not appreciate
George Bush coming out and telling us to "step in line" and support McCain.
Last
time I checked, each person has a mind of their own, and this was a
Republic, not a Monarchy.

Anyway, I decided to personally support Huckabee financially with a $100
donation. I don't usually do this kind of thing. In fact, I have never
given a dime to a politician I didn't HAVE to give one to before today. But
gosh darn it, I just feel that the guy has a chance, but is low on cash for
necessities. I thought I'd do my part to help level the playing field a
bit.

As always, I also look for ways to get my money to go farther. I found

a Veteran's organization will match your donation with $1 for every 10

That's it, in a nutshell - a frugal way to get more donated than you
actually give - $11 for every $10 you donate. (or in my case $110 for my
$100 donation)

This is the way I think politics should be done - not with large
financiers and backdoor promises, but instead, interested everyday folks,
many of whom give a small amount. If more people did this sort of thing, it
would decrease the clout of folks who have insider party contacts, and those
who have family fortunes to spend influencing those who get their ideas from
30 second TV commercials.
