Anyone know?

I'm in the process of writing the back label of my aftershaves, and I'm
using some other brands of aftershave as guides. Some of them claim to
"tone the skin," but I don't know exactly what that means. I looked at
some webpages for skin products, skin care, etc, but I haven't found
anything definite. It could mean anything from skin cleaning, to skin
firming, to some vague skin improvement of some sort.

Y'all know just about everything . . . what do you say about this?

10,000 thanks,

-Tock

I agree that it's a nebulous marketing jargon to some extent. When I
think of toning, I think in terms of tightening the skin or the
feeling of same. Products that contain Which Hazel could possibly
justify that description. Even rubbing alcohol claims that title too
so almost anything goes.

It never had any meaning, it was always just more mindless sales bullshit.

It means absolutely nothing. It was always just mindless sales bullshit.

Because there is nothing to find.

Or it has always meant absolutely nothing.

toner is used to remove the residue from cleansing. it seems to tight the
pores a bit.

Likely invented by some advertising agency. Has no real meaning.

ave u heard/read of "urine therapy" on google.com whose supporters
claims it reverses genetic illnesses as well as aids.cancer. ask the
supporters of "urine therapy" or drinking one's own pee whether it is
good for children.
