I found out later that American Express covers that and the insurance
person at Amex suggests
that perhaps they knew/know this. Could be. They made the sale.
Bully for them.
Next....
the car would NOT move out of Park. The gear shifter was jammed!
Several people nearby tried to help
and neither of them could move the stick out of Park. After dark,
Raining, ... and a real nice part of
downtown, too. I called for Enterprise roadside assistance, and they
tried some things too.
The people tried rocking the car forward and back while I forced the
gear shifter and that broke it loose.
Lucky for me the people were not car jackers? or that there was anyone
there at all !! I would have
been stuck waiting for a tow.
When I took the car back the next day, the woman at the counter as
much as called me a liar.
Real nice.
Discount cars, Discount service, but without any discount.
Frugal? not a chance. This was a very poor experience and I cannot
recommend them.
You had a problem. They came out and saw that it got resolved, even if
they personally did not free the shifter.
Enterprise is not responsible for reading your American Express
contract for you. They pointed out a potential benefit to their
insurance. So they did not affirm what AMEX MIGHT pay. It's simply not
their job. It's yours.
