control panel/programs&features

what a mess; add or delete programs was much better

thanks. the microsoft website wasn't easy help. looks like they
want hide that info as much as possible.

i'm going with open office.

You don't need to uninstall Microsoft Office in order to install and use
OpenOffice - I have both on my machine. OpenOffice is not 100% compatible
with Microsoft Office. If you're going to use only files you've created on
your system, I guess that doesn't matter, but if you send or receive stuff
from others, it might. And before you say you don't send or receive stuff
from other people, consider that sometimes when you're looking stuff up on
the web, you're looking at Word, Excel, or Powerpoint files.

Yes, M$ has free viewers for Word, Xcel and PowerPoint. But if you have
open office, you won't need them as OO for the most part uses compatible
file formats.

Look under the file or help menus for an "uninstall" or "remove" option.
