I was in the Home Despot a day ago and noticed that Cree has Edison
base (common) 60 watt bulbs ($13):

Also in a 5K, the 5k version is a 1/2 W less and a dollar more.
Anyone tried these?
It's a price, "wattage", and manufacturer that might kick off an LED
transition. I have a kitchen fixture, I'd like to try two in, splitters
are common and 1600 dimmable lumens is enough for most uses.
