This place on eBay has some great prices on Keen shoes
and other outdoor apparel

http://stores.ebay.com/Adrimar-Trading-Company

Anyone ever buy clothes from them? Or clothes off eBay
period?

The reviews look good but I'm leery

What you think?

i do it all the time. but...i don't spend a lot of money for
'designer' because even the ones that arent fakes are overpriced, i
read the description veeerry carefully, and i check the feedback. i
also use the 'ask seller a question' feature. if after all this, it
still looks good, go for it.

i have had good luck in that what i have gotten as been almost always
'as described', and i have paid little enough that i could cherefully
pass on what didn't fit/wasn't right.

Thanks for the opinion!

Why the heck they charge so much for shipping on
everything tho?

Part of it is actual costs; part of it is the fact that
eBay doesn't get a commission on shipping charges.

Ever check postage rates? Do you want a box or should they just Magic
Marker the address on the item?

Keep in mind eBay + Paypal fees typically add 15% (or more). Then
there's the cost to get the items to the PO, the cost of returns, etc.

clothes are heavy. but if the shipping charge looks too high, don't
use that seller. someone who will try to cheat you on shipping will
try to cheat you on merchandise also. a lot of people do add a
handling charge. if it's just a couple of dollars, i don't mind, but
if it's more, again i don't buy from them.

it also can be 'fee avoidance'. they don't have t give ebay a
percentage of the shipping, so if they add an extra $10, they save
some money. these people aren't to be trusted either. unless you are
buying something very rare, just avoid the questionable sellers.
there are plenty of others.

Bottom line is to add the price + S/H. If it's fair - go ahead -
provided the S/H is reasonable.

If it's too much, artificially low or the total is not clear - walk.

About $2 over postage is generally a fair S/H. Much more or
significantly less is a sign the seller is playing games and should not
be trusted. As the previous posted mentioned, a seller playing games
with S/H (artificially high or low) will likely be playing games with
the description as well.

Well is this company in link

http://stores.ebay.com/Adrimar-Trading-Company

Look like they charge $12 to ship shoes. I guess shoes
are a bit heavy.

One way to judge shipping costs is to go to a site from an established
retailer and see what they charge for shipping. For instance, I tried the
DSW site and selected a $130 pair of men's dress shoes. Shipping, using
their "standard" shipping mode (whatever that is) is $5.95.

Based on that, I'd say $12 is expensive.

The few times I've shopped on ebay, stuff looked expensive to me, compared
to what's available elsewhere online and locally. With one exception, I've
bought whatever I was looking for elsewhere.

Mindlessly silly. Plenty just have enough of a clue to minimise the
ebay commission that way and the buyer obviously benefits from that.

What matters is the total price. Thats what you pay.

More fool you.

Often, that is where their profit is.

when ever you buy anything that requires shipping/postage, make sure you
include that in "the cost" when comparing sources.

unless you are getting extremely strong heavy boots or having them
shipped from out of the country, that looks excessive. the shipping i
have paid for shoes is around $5/$7. i do check the postage when i
get the package and this is about right for actual postage and a
dollar or two for handling.

as i said before, i wouldn't buy from them, but a $5 or so handling
charge isn't really out of line for a company. but if you can get it
elsewhere, you woiuld be better off. check their feedback. for a
company anything less tha 99++% is a warning signal.

Well the TOTAL price on the shoes I want including
shipping is abt $60

These shoes normally sell for $100 at any retailer...so
even with the $12 shipping the overall total is some
440 cheaper!

I'm just curious hoe these eBay dealers can be THAT
much cheaper?

Overstocks by stores in small towns, people who bought shoes and wore
them once and the people wouldn't take them back, etc.

Before you buy from ebay, compare at shoebuy.com. Free shipping, plus
satisfaction guarantee with free return shipping. I've bought from
them in the past and was happy with the deal and service. YMMV.

No affiliation, yadda, yadda, yadda.

They dont have to pay rent for the retail store etc and the staff to run it.

And with some of them, you deal directly with the
chinese person, no middleman store or cut at all.

THANK YOU!!!!! They have lots of styles that my size-13,
ballerina-flat-loving daughter would like and they are cheaper than
where we have been buying them.

I even hate most current shoe fashions, and I found at least a dozen
different dress shoes that I would wear.

Ok thanks

I will give them some consideration
