Is there a way to get a detailed listing on the American Express web site of
how much cash back I got from each purchase?

I recently got a notice that they will not give as much cash back if a store
uses the wrong "merchant code". So I want to do business with stores where I
get the correct amount of cash back! But I need to know how much I am
getting back for each purchase...

Good Question. I'd like to see the same for Visa & Discover. They
like to brag about their % rebates, but frequently deny the full rebates
due to the type of merchant not meeting their criteria.

Not good enough. I'd like to see each merchant's code on the monthly
bill. In theory on one card I get 3% on the three categories in which I
spend the most money. No matter HOW they code them I should get more
than ZERO extra points, right? I called. The phonedroid said there was
an error and I would be credited. Now I just have to remember to check
next month to see if I got credit for last month. Then I'll have to
check the following month to see if I got credit...

I figure they can't actually lie, but they sure can obfuscate. And make
errors that don't get corrected unless somebody calls.

And exactly what do you expect anyone on these newsgroups to do that
Amex can't for you?
