Proof The Smokers are the Spenders.
Ban The Smoker's Will You !
Adopt a Ban in your state if you Dare...
Make No Mistake ! This is REALITY!

Her's our next candidate to join our list !

Another Goner: Cheapskates anxious ! !
There's been plenty of change at Frisco Station Mall over the years.
With Goody's preparing to pack it up, that change will continue.
Cunningham, both retired Rogers residents, can tell you exactly how
many steps
it takes to get from one end of the Frisco Station Mall to the other.
For years, they and plenty of others have been walking laps around the
indoor
portion of the mall for exercise.
But in less than two months, they know things are going to get a
little darker on the east end of their walk.
The Cunninghams are just happy the main doors to the mall will remain
open so they can
continue walking the mall every morning for exercise.
But they are curious to see what will happen with the Goody's space,
as well as the other unoccupied spaces.

===> BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA! <======

According to Gail Segura, national marketing manager for J. Herzog and
Sons Inc.,
the Denver-based management company that purchased the property in
2003,
Frisco Station Mall is in no danger of closing its doors. J. Herzog
and Sons Inc.
renovated the facility in 2004, at which time its original name,
Dixieland Mall,
was changed to Frisco Station Mall.
The company operates and manages 14 malls across the country.

===> BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA! <======
We'll see all 14 Malls on the list !
Too Bad Investors...

Below: They will be next to join our List !

Betten,

I live near Durham, NC where you suggest that South Square Mall is being
damaged by the smoking ban. South Square Mall closed and was torn down years
ago. It's been replaced by a Super Target. I've only been in there a few
times but it seems to be doing well.
NC has been smoking in State buildings but I don't think smoking is
banned elsewhere. This is a tobacco growing State.

Good luck,
Dave M.

I was at the site just last month enjoying pub food and
a craft beer in a pub that used to have a problem with smoke.

The old mall was so 1970s. It was deteriorating. The shops
left one by one. The site now is open air with a city-like
layout. It's now called Bel Mar. Plenty of shops, restaurants,
markets. There is a very large Whole Foods and a very large
Dick's Sporting Goods. I count 16 restaurants and cafes
from the directory. In all there are 82 businesses.
Open Air is now the rage. Northfields, where the old
airport used to be, is new. They built a similar layout
on the grounds that used to be Cinderella City. That was
touted to be the largest mall west of the Mississippi when
it opened in the 60s. It's now a mix of shops and condos
next to one of the light rail stations.

The demise of malls isn't because of smoking bans.
Villa Italia closed about 8 years ago. Our smoking ban
is not quite 2 years old. I supposed getting that nicotine
fix is now easier for the addict in such venues. Of course
they have to be 15 feet away from an entrance but smoking
is permitted in outdoor dining. Our climate permits outdoor
dining from about mid April to mid October.

Try again. If smoking bans were bad for the economy they would
be repealed right and left.

Open air is now the rage...
Bwahahahahahahhaa
It's how the mall's are ridding themselves of the cheapskates.
Redesigned...or die !

The walkers put the smokers out years ago everywhere.
The redesigned mall is the result.

Further 132 Malls across the US are reversing their
structure.

Entrances to the outside, storespace and stockrooms
in the center halls... Free Space ....Gone !

** " Enjoy It you Cheapskates." **

Just about all malls across the US have
become free excercise pits for cheapskates.

Maybe that's the death knell 15 shoe stores
and the cheapskete walkers buy elsewhere.

Kmart, wall mart, payless....
but come to toss out the smokers and stink
up the mall for free....

Smart smoker's won't shop in any malls.
30% loss per year and there you go.
Closed up malls.

** " Best remedy ever. " **

Well you were to young to remember....
Smoking and ashtrays in all the stores....

Just last year JR cigar removed ashtrays and only smoking
in the cigar room now...

The mall removed ashtrays in their last two years....
Lesson not learned across the US....

But soon to be.

That's not happening. On the contrary, they are being passed

Good God, Mann. Relax, would you? Have a smoke. Here, light one up.
MMmmmmm. Feel that good old nicotine burn? Let's put that one out and
light another. Ahhh, freshness like springtime! All done? Just toss the
butt out of your car window, saves emptying the ashtray. Yeah, flick it.
You can shoot it over there. Here, light another... where did you put
that stupid Bic? Oh, man, that's great. That smell sticks to your
fingers, doesn't it? It makes you think of cool tough guys and beautiful
dames, doesn't it? Smoking girls are the easiest, anyway- they know
smoking makes tongues hotter. Uh-oh, you're almost out. Only a couple
left in the pack. Better pick up an extra carton or two. You never know
when something bad might happen, like a war or a depression or
something, and you want to make sure you have enough smokes to tide you
over. Mann, that would be awful wouldn't it? If something like that
happened and you didn't have hardly any left? You still might be able to
scrounge some smokable butts out of ashtrays... IF anyone still smoked.
Smokes are really the only friend you can count on in the end.

There were people walking around everywhere.
Now, there are a lot of people walking,
but many of them are like us, just for exercise.
Management keeps the place clean and the floors polished real nice,
but I do wonder sometimes how they can keep going and if there's
enough shopping traffic to stay open."

Is this what the article says?
Cheapskates ~ No?

Go ahead give the smokers the list of malls that
still provide astrays and have excerciser's walking & jogging.

Yes, the malls were ahead of the legal ban,
and the cheapskates lead the way.

what's the matter, anti~smokers don't want the credit
for this economic impact?
Face reality.

So the list grows..

Nobody Cares??

What you doing here then...
Is this the best medium you have to spread the word...

CHEAPSKATE

That's the word....

The repeals will come....
after the damage ....and you crybabies and nanny's
will be done for good.

There's no profit with non smokers...
their all cheapskates.

It's been pointed out rents were higher in malls than
stand-alone stores. Couple that with cheap Chinese
goods and shopping on the Internet.

Smoking bans had nothing to do with the demise of malls.
You give smokers too much credit. If they were a driving
economic force by insisting their addiction being catered
to, bans would be repealed in large numbers. How many times
do I have to say it? That isn't happening. Learn to live with it.

When?

Aspen, Colorado's ban is 23 years old. Old enough to drink.

Towns in California and Massachusetts passed them in the late
1980s & early 1990s. The rest of the nation followed. The
trend really took off in the 21st century.

Enactment is what's happening, not repeal.

Malls and suburbs were built for the same reason: white flight. Middle class whites wanted
to avoid diversity. In Levittown NY, the prototypical suburb, every deed contained this
restriction, "not to permit the premises to be used or occupied by any
person other than members of the caucasian race." The feds made Levitt remove that
restriction after a few years, but it continued de facto. In the 60s, there wasn't a
single black student in the Levittown schools.

Now, it seems half of mall shoppers are not middle class white Americans.

In 1995, 38% of retail sales were in malls, In 2002, it fell below 20%.

Reminds me of the fear campaign when San Francisco enacted a ban. The
tobacco people warned that smokers would stop going to restaurants and bars.

Have fun explaining how come they happened even in countrys with no one but whites in them.

And the fact remains that we won't fall for the fear mongering and
distortions put forth by the pro-smoking lobby.

A number of years ago we had an initiative on the ballot to raise the
cigarette tax. The tobacco industry ran a fear campaign saying that the
higher tax would make it lucrative for gangs to hijack trucks carrying
cigarettes.Of course it never happened.

Except for smokers and other people involved in the tobacco scam,
I wonder why anyone would care? Did they think trucks carrying
cigarettes carried other things too? Maybe that was it. They were
afraid their food and other necessities would be hijacked along with.

Higher cigarette taxes benefits everyone except smokers, who
are only 21% of the population, and those who profit from the
misery of the addicted. They even benefit smokers if they
encourage them to quit or never start.

And in a similar stroke of absurdity, a editorial from one of these
local free papers (no wonder they're free with writing like this)
claimed that a "casualty" of the local smoking ban and tax increase
was a teenager who got hit by a taxi cab when trying to flee a store
after stealing a pack of cigarettes. The writer's "logic" was that if
cigarettes weren't so expensive, then the guy wouldn't have been
tempted to steal them. Need I point out how absurd that is?

The ad specifically mentioned cigarettes claiming that with a higher
tax criminals would steal them and resell them.
