This is OUR money they are giving away folks!

The U.S. is giving Egypt 13 BILLION dollars and Israel 30 BILLION dollars in
aid!

And how much more to all the other foreign countries?

What is the total?

Why don't we stop giving OUR money away to other countries and use it here
where it is needed?

Our bridges are falling apart and people are losing their homes. (But "THEY"
apparently do not see this as being very important???)

Charity begins at HOME!

There is a funding feedback connection. Getting elected to a US
political office is finacially ruinous unless one has donations to
fund the election campaign. Jewish organizations and individuals are
very generous in this respect and become the kingmakers. For the
millions they contribute Israel gets back billions and the key to US
weapons armory. Its a pretty good exchange.

Just because someone fucked up, not due to what was spend on aid.

Only the fools that borrowed stupidly.

Or they realise that stopping that aid wont change those two.

Usual mindless line.

Yeah, the only thing stopping us from living in Heaven on Earth is
that we are spending 0.1% of our GDP (http://www.commondreams.org/
views/100100-102.htm) on foreign aid, pretty much the lowest
percentage of any first world nation. Odd that the countries who give
higher percentages than we do still manage not to have bridges
falling apart and homeless people on the street, despite having lower
GDP per capita to begin with. Couldn't be that that damn socialism of
theirs which leads them to value people's lives more than dollars even
extends to lives of foreign people, could it?

So please tell me: why does Israel, a modern first world democracy,
with a reasonably prosperous and diverse economy, and their own modern
military which includes a cache of nukes, need 30 billion dollars a
year in US aid?

You clearly have never had a JAP girlfriend...

In 67 Israel was an impressive military power. Last year, they seemed
to have an intelligence just slightly north of Beavis and Butthead.

If your US Congressman will not tell you you do
not have to vote for him next time.

Lots of reasons. First, most of that gets plowed back into US military
contractors, so Congress looks on it somewhat differently than if it
were actually wasted on things like food for starving Africans. in
case you haven't noticed, they feel that tossing huge sums of money to
defense contractors is a requirement of "fortress america". And
lobbyists for military contractors with their deep pockets for
political contributions look on it favorably as well.
Some of it is spent on Israeli military contractors, who basically
represent outsourcing of some of the US military contractors' R&D.
US military hardware that goes to Israel undergoes real life testing,
which is better than having your son the soldier discover the hard way
that that new rifle design that worked so well back at Camp Swampy
tends to jam in desert conditions. There was a lot of that back when
the USSR was backing the Arab countries, and the Middle East basically
was just a war games scenario where the US/NATO and the USSR could
test their hardware without much chance of starting WWIII.
Less cynically, expensive things like hightech surveillance of borders
in order to catch infiltrators are generally considered a great
improvement over eliminating the infiltrators by just bombing the
neighboring villages, which a lot of people complain about and
therefore ought to be willing to pay a few pennies to eliminate.
Just a few, off the top of my head.
