Back then, before widespread access by the
teeming millions to the Internet, techno-dweebs
got their info-fix by circling numbers on a
postcard to be mailed back to a techno-magazine.
The wage-serfs performing fulfillment of the
orders for more information found their own
creative ways to insult yours truly Mentifex
way back then. I would send in the reader
service cards where you had to state what
your position was. I would write down that
I was a hobbyist (in computers and electronics).
Some of the mailing labels that came back to me
were addressed to ARTHUR T MURRAY, HOGGYIST,
as if perhaps I was being a hog by requesting
too many information packets.
Hog or no hog, it was through reader service cards
that I started receiving free information about Forth
as a computer programming language. Forth appealed
to me as a Latin and Greek linguist because you
could make up your own active computer code words
in the Forth language. The Forth people sent me
little crib cards with special Forth words on them.
I simply stored the cards away in my packrat hoarder
archives and I did not take any action on them for
another decade, until key figures in the Forth
community invited Mentifex to join the club.
I created the MindForth AI program and from it
the JavaScript AI Mind program in English and in
Russian. But first I had to create a memeplex of
Mentifex AI on the Internet, so that the Forth
community could respond to me and invite me to
take my place among the practitioners of Forth.
