************************************************************* The
CREED NY Calendar was started in 1995 by the Campaign for Real
Equitable Economic Development (CREED), a coalition effort
seeking to educate the public about the links between local
economic problems and global trade issues. CREED started the
weekly calendar as a way to help people in the NYC area stay
informed about events, and to promote cooperation--instead of
competition--among New York's many activist groups. So far the
CREED NY Calendar has been available free by email, or for $5 a
year by regular mail to subscribers of the Weekly News Update on
the Americas (a weekly news bulletin covering news about Latin
America and the Caribbean). We'd like to expand distribution of
the CREED NY Calendar, but this is an all-volunteer effort and we
need help! If you have ideas and would like to get involved in
helping to produce or distribute the calendar, please contact us.
