Cows or Us. Nearly half to two thirds of land in our country as well as
millions of acres in third world countries are devoted to the meat and
dairy diet of the west. Much of the best land as well as the water and
two thirds of the grain crops are devoted to the feeding and pasturing of
cattle.
This is the height of opulence but also keeps the multitudes locked up in
cities for industrial fodder. Creating land scarcity is just one of the
side effects of meat opulence but the starvation of many as result the
robbery of their food security, creates a moral issue with the meat and
dairy diet. It takes a sixteen to one grain to beef ratio, nearly a ten
to one fossil fuel calorie to food calorie ratio and 8000 gallons of
water to grow a pound of beef. The agriculture of the planet is totally
stressed before climate change and the feeding of cattle before people
really needs to be brought to the front burner. Attempting to burn food
to run vehicles is even worse. So what do you tell your progeny when
they look you in the eye ask why you did not help to right this wrong?

on fairness, the universal standard of living, full empowerment, support
