Stryker soldiers allegedly formed 'kill team' to carry out random

Gibbs began joking with other soldiers about how easy it would be
to "toss a grenade" at Afghan civilians and kill them, according

Another believed that Gibbs was "feeling out the platoon." Others
told investigators Gibbs eventually turned the talk into action,
forming what one called a "kill team" to carry out random executions

brigade based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord are now charged with

Williamsburg businesses, the animal lovers thought they were doing
the dog a favor by calling animal control. They never thought their
new friend would be gunned down with a shotgun by the man they
called to help, but they say that's exactly what happened.

24 Aug 2010 Here's a new twist in the U.S. military's Islamic
sensitivity effort in the prison camps for suspected terrorists at
the Guantanamo Bay Navy base: Military medical staff are force-feeding
a secret number of prisoners on hunger strike between dusk and dawn
during the Muslim fasting holiday of Ramadan. The prison camps
spokesman, Navy Cmdr. Bradley Fagan, says it is U.S. Southern Command
policy to no longer reveal the exact number of detainees being
shackled by guards into restraint chairs for twice daily feedings.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai says private security firms are a
source of corruption in his country as they have ties with Mafia-like
groups funding the Taliban.
"I am appealing to the US taxpayers not to allow their hard-earned
money to be wasted on groups that are not only providing lots of
inconveniences to the Afghan people, but actually are, God knows,
in contact with Mafia-like groups and perhaps also funding militants
and insurgents and terrorists through those firms," the Los Angles
Times quoted Karzai as saying on Monday. The Afghan chief executive
made the comments one day after he ordered all the foreign security
firms to cease to operate by the end of 2010.
