Hauz Khas,
Sub:-Request for declaring all Saturdays off for the students of MIS.
Madam,
Kindly refer to our previous meetings of PTA in which issue of 5 days a week (Saturdays and Sundays off) for MIS students was raised. I was given to understand that this was to be discussed in the management committee meetings for favourable consideration.
In the meantime, large no of parents of classes 11th and 12th have requested for taking up this issue with the school. During last PTM also I had submitted a letter to your office for having Saturdays off.
As you are aware, the science students of classes XI and XII have to prepare not only for Board exams but also for the competitive exams like engineering and medical entrance . With classes on Saturdays, students of MIS hardly get any time for self study as well as for physical activities like games. The Mother always accorded a lot of importance to games and other physical activities to keep the body and mind fit.
Moreover there is huge increase in the course content in classes 11th and 12th as compared to 9th and 10th standards. It is also observed that the attendance in these classes on Saturdays is less than 50% .
Therefore, I would be grateful if you could kindly consider the suggestion of declaring all Saturdays off ,at least for the students of classes 11th and 12th, to give them more time for preparing for competitive exams as well as for participation in the games and other physical activities.
