Maven vs rubygems

I'd like to have easy acces to maven artifacts from Mirah, but then it may be helpful to have a generic way to package java libs into gems. I'd want to keep the same versioning, if possible, and provide a minimal JRuby wrapper. Can jbundler fetch libs directly from maven?
