Tamil Computing projects for B.E./M.E./MCA students

Dear All,

   In our college there are about 120 B.E. students, 60 MCA students and 25 M.E. students are doing projects every year.  So far not even a single project came in Tamil Computing.  After my efforts and motivations currently 12 students of MCA are showing interests.  I have not yet talked to B.E/M.E students since they are on examinations.  I have identified some projects of interest out of my experience in TIC2009 (Tamil Internet Conference).  As I talked to Ms.Suba and Dr.Kannan, I am sending this to the group email to  know your needs and immediate potential in this area.

நான் தமிழகம் செல்லும் போதெல்லாம், தவறாமல் கல்லூரிகளில் பேசுவதுண்டு.

 

சென்றமுறை மதுரை டோக் பெருமாட்டி கல்லூரியிலும், கோவை பி.எஸ்.ஜி கல்லூரியிலும், பேரூர் தமிழ் கல்லூரியிலும் பேசினேன்.

 

பேரூர் சைவ மடம் தமிழ் மரபு அறக்கட்டளையுடன் ஆரம்ப காலம் முதல் இணைந்து செயல்படுகிறது. நாம் நினைப்பதைவிட பெரிய அடிகளும், தற்போதைய பட்டமும் கணினி செயல்பாடு பற்றி மிக நன்கு அறிந்தவர்கள். மின்னாக்கப்பணிகள் பற்றி அக்கலூரியில் விழிப்புணர்வுண்டு.

 

மற்ற கல்லூரிகளில் நான் பேசியபோது மிகவும் ஆச்சர்யப்பட்டனர்.

 

மாணவர் நேரம், உழைப்பு என்பது தமிழகத்தைப் பொறுத்தவரை பெரும்பாலும் விரையமாகிறது. அதை ஆக்கபூர்வமாக திருப்பிவிட்டால் நம்மால் எவ்வளவோ சாதிக்கவியலும்.

 

தமிழ் மரபு அறக்கட்டளையும், குமரகுரு கல்லூரியும் இது குறித்து எவ்வகையான திட்டங்களை முன்வைக்கலாமென்று இங்கு ஆலோசிக்கும்படி பேரா.முத்துகுமார் அவர்களைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டேன். அதன்படி இம்மடல் வந்திருக்கிறது.

 

இங்கு மின்னாக்கப்பணியில் அனுபவப்பட்ட பெரியோர் சில திட்டங்களை முன்வரைவு செய்ய விண்ணப்பம். கலந்து ஆலோசிக்கும் போது நடைமுறைப்படும் திட்டங்களை உருவாக்க முடியும்.

we have quite a number of ideas that need to be implemented on GNU/
Linux operating systems, starting from application development on Gtk,
Qt, Python related to Tamil Computing and down to core technology areas
of language processing.

the project shall be certified by NRCFOSS too.
