Has anyone integrated barcode scanning into an iOS app? Looking for
some experience/gotchas with popular libraries. Open source libraries
(ZBar, ZXing) appear to be in various states of semi-active
development. Red Laser is rock solid, but has a non-trivial cost.

Thanks!

I've used ZXing with decent success.

I have used ZXing in both Android and IOS. The library seems to be updated
more frequently for Android than IOS, and IOS does have some patches you
need to add for it to work correctly on the iPhone 4, at least that was
the case earlier this year.

Overall the library does it's job, and works, but does sometimes crash or
fail to properly read a barcode, but it's gotten better of this current
year. I have tested the library with regular barcodes, i.e. UPC barcodes,
and with QR Code barcodes.

Thank you,
